Smugglers' Notch State Park - the famous Smugglers' Notch is a narrow pass through the Green Mountains of Vermont and includes the highest peak in the state of Vermont, Mount Mansfield. You can ride the gondola to the peak of Mount Mansfield year-round, whether during a day of skiing or on a summer hike. The park itself is open from May through October, starting after mud season and ending after leaf-peeping. Pets are permitted and camping is allowed.
